Lady Lizette & Bezu

Pedestal Sculpture

Sculptured busts on pedestals have been a tradition in the world of art for time immemorial. I had a desire to bring that tradition into my own art work with a unique twist. The pedestal would be whimsical, funky, unique and an integrated part of the sculpture.

The for Lady Lizette is a dragon. I have been fascinated with the myths and art work related to dragons. The challenge was more than I bargained for, but determination won out and Bezu was born.

Here is their story... Prince Bezu and Lady Lizette were lovers. A jealous witch cursed them and turned Bezu into a dragon which although quite a tragedy, is probably still better than being a frog! Lady Lizette, upon his back, is his constant companion. The lovers were never separated and we can only imagine all the adventures they had.

Don’t miss Bezu’s gold dragon on the front of the pedestal.
