Sculptured busts on pedestals have been a tradition in the world of art for time immemorial. I had a desire to bring that tradition into my own art work with a unique twist. The pedestal would be whimsical, funky, unique, and an integrated part of the sculpture.

Spencer is a man who is ready, willing, and able to celebrate the joy and exuberance of life as he sees it. As part of his splendiferous outfit, Spencer wears a gold vermeil and blue topaz star necklace that shines almost as much as the man himself. The pedestal is elaborate and mimics stone and is embellished with fabric from his costume. Beads dangle from the pedestal adding a touch of whimsy and charm.

Spencer believes in the Wisdom of Solomon which says: “Let us fill ourselves with costly wine and ointment; and let no flower of spring pass us by us.
