Titania

Shadow Box

Titania is the name of the queen of the fairies in Shakespeare’s play A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She is a proud creature and as much a force to contend with as her husband Oberon. Oberon states in the play:

"I know a bank where the wild wind blows,
Where oxlips & the nodding violet grows,
Quite over-canopied with luscious woodbine:
With sweet musk-roses & with eglantine:
There sleeps Titania sometimes of the night,
Lull’d in these flowers with dances of delight."

The shadow box background is lush hand painted silk. Titania is surrounded by whimsical flowers on swirling vines. At the top, a magnificent medallion with inset simulated opals is a wonderful addition. Titania in all her exquisite gleaming glory is no doubt the Queen of the fairies. How delightful it would be to have Titania in your home!
